I moved to the sunny side of the Bridge, Oakland! As stoked as I was to cook in my new kitchen, I realized while I had a couple good friends helping me put my furniture together that I was missing so many essentials. Shit that you need to get your cook on. Knives (where are you knives?!), olive oil, vegetable oil, salt, pepper, garlic, all my seasonings, etc. This was my effort to slap together a bomb ass meal for my boys with what I had.
1 bag TruRoots Ancient Grains Fusilli
1 tbsp coconut oil
2 spicy Italian turkey sausage
4 kale leaves
1 jar Rao’s Homemade Marinara
Being water to a boil and cook the pasta. Stir occasionally while preparing the sauce. Then drain.
Heat the coconut oil on medium-high. Squeeze the turkey sausage out of casing and onto the pan. Break up the sausage as much as possible. Cook until browned. Tear kale and stir pieces into the turkey sausage until tender. Stir Rao’s Homemade Marinara into the pan. Reduce heat to medium and cook until sauce begins to bubble.
Mix pasta and sauce and enjoy. Nom.

Anytime someone asks us to make comfort food I get all giddy inside. You can imagine my excitement when our new foodie clients, Ariel & Max (not from The Little Mermaid), told us that they wanted to have an Americana BBQ picnic-style wedding. Challenge: Our bride is vegetarian. Our groom is from a Jewish family and many of them do not eat pork. Challenge accepted. Here’s what we made –
The Grill Station
House Gound Kobe Beef Sliders, Miniature Kosher Beef Hot Dog, Mac ‘n Cheese in Coquettes. I wish you could’ve heard all the noises of excitement when we brought these little guys out. I loved hearing Max’s dad turn to his wife and say “Why don’t you make mac ‘n cheese like that in mini coquettes?” We didn’t forget Ariel… we made veggie versions of all these treats for her. I personally tasted them and they were amazing. I’m not gonna lie. I pretty much personally taste everything. I hover around the kitchen waiting for stuff to be done so I can “taste” it before it goes out.
And now you may enjoy your foodgasm.
